Earnings Surge

EMSC reported fourth-quarter on Feb 12 that included net revenue of $597 million, an 11% year-over-year increase.

Earnings per share were 48 cents, 55% higher than the fourth quarter of 2007. Net income was 4% higher than the consensus estimate, making it the fourth consecutive earnings surprise.

Guidance Issued

In the same press release, the company also released full-year guidance and expects EPS to be between $2.05 and $2.15, up from $1.97 in 2008.
