What is a Podcast?

A podcast is simply an audio file that can be played on your computer or downloaded to a portable device, such as an iPod or an MP3 player. Zacks Podcasts allow you listen to insight from Zacks.com analysts and writers, at your leisure.

How Do I Listen to a Zacks Podcast?

You can listen directly from your computer or download the file to your portable device (iPod, mp3 player, etc.)

  • To listen on your computer, simply click on the Play button.
  • To download a podcast, simply click on the "Download" button and save the file. Then transfer the file to your portable device the same way you would transfer any music file.

Do I Need Special Software?

Most computers usually come preloaded with software that can play podcasts, such as Windows Media Player or iTunes. If you do not have such software installed, you can choose from a variety of programs at web sites such as Download.com. To subscribe to Zacks podcasts you will need podcasting software. The latest version of Internet Explorer has the ability to subscribe to RSS feeds built into it. You can also add the link to a My Yahoo page or a My Google page. Alternatively, you can choose from a variety of programs at Download.com. Add your favorite Zacks podcast feeds, by copying the feed URL from the address bar of your browser(or from your clipboard) and pasting it into your podcasting application. The podcasting software will automatically check for future updates and download them to your computer.

How Can I Find Out When a New Podcast Has Been Published?

The easiest way to find out when a new podcast is made available is to simply subscriber to the feed by clicking on the button. This will send you the latest podcasts directly to your computer via what is known as RSS ("really simple syndication"). The latest version of Internet Explorer has the ability to subscribe to RSS feeds built into it. You can also add the link to a My Yahoo page or a My Google page. Alternatively, you can choose from a variety of programs at Download.com.
