The media relations department at Zacks Investment Research is looking for a detail oriented, self starter requiring minimal supervision.

Job Description:
This is for a part-time position, 15 to 20 hours per week. We're looking for a person who has the initiative and focus to effectively achieve goals and develop strategic partnerships. This person will primarily be growing the branding and visibility of a key portion of Zacks online unit, Zacks.com, by building and maintaining strategic public relations partnerships. Other media/public relations tasks may be assigned as appropriate. This job reports to the media relations director. Candidate has a strong work ethic and a desire to take charge of a project and move it from start to finish, finding the appropriate channels to make sure all components are completed. This candidate must also be able to effectively and professionally communicate internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and contact financial services companies with partnership opportunities
• Establish and maintain strategic partnerships
• Create and maintain a contact cycle to facilitate moving relationships forward
• Maintain an accurate record of all partnership development activities
• Provide periodic updates on all partnership development activities.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Knowledge of or experience in financial services industry, especially with financial products
• Bachelor degree with a concentration in public relations
• Previous experience in project work
• Experience in developing and delivering partnership pitches
• Experience in strategic partnership development
• Must be able to work effectively and efficiently
• Must enjoy external contact with financial service companies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ambitious, but professional, in follow-up and follow through on projects
• Skilled in Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
