The Durable Goods report was a disappointment. And New Home sales was a downright disaster. So the market continued going lower, right? At first that was the case, and then the market sprung higher resulting in a positive close. Why? Because a relief rally was coming no matter what the news said. If the Jobless Claims report on Thursday or GDP revision on Friday is decent, then the bounce might extend for another 1-2%. Unfortunately after that I still think the risk is to the downside until earnings season comes around in October.
