Even with Mr. Geitner's extension of the controversial TARP program and looming fear of the rising debt levels of governments abroad, investor confidence creeped back into the market Wednesday posting a gain for the first time this week.
Perhaps it was Bank of America (BAC) with their promise to repay their portion, $45B, of the government bailout fund which helped to boost morale. Or, maybe it was the U.S. Commerce Department's announcement that wholesale inventories rose in October, after suffering a long declining slide over the past 13 months, that led the charge.
