Dear Subscribers,

We can thank North Korea for adding a few more bricks to the Wall of Worry. Not even a positively revised Q3 GDP report could stop the market from another collision course with Dow 11,000. Gladly that level of support held up...this time.

Here are the simple facts. After GDP fell to 1.7% in the second quarter, many experts believed that the recovery was over and that Q3 might end up in the minus column. Now it's reading of +2.5% shows that we are on a growth path. In fact, we are on the verge of seeing actual job growth which would help create a healthier, virtuous cycle of growth that will help us in 2011 and beyond. This is the current course we are on.

Unfortunately there are some things out there that threaten this recovery story. European sovereign debt issues. Renewed concerns over health of US banks (thanks to rise in foreclosures). And now a rogue nation like North Korea wants to stir up some trouble. Yes, any one of these could derail our current positive trajectory. And that is the trick investing now given two extreme alternatives (everything is great vs. everything is about to fall apart). So if the outlook is not clear, then the solution is to hedge your bets. Don't go 100% long or 100% short. Find a strategy that suits what your gut is telling you. And then be prepared to adjust as new information comes in that makes the outlook clearer. I will do my best to provide you some of that information.
