Vivo Participacoes S.A., through its subsidiaries, provides cellular telecommunications services in Brazil. Headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the company offers its services using GSM/EDGE, CDMA, and TDMA. The Company provides such products and services as Vivo Messenger, a mobile messaging service, Vivo Corporate, suited for companies, Vivo Downloads, which offers mobile-based download services and Vivo Chat, among others. In addition, the company offers roaming services through agreements with local cellular service providers in Brazil and other countries that allow its subscribers to make and receive calls while out of its concession areas; and reciprocal roaming services for subscribers of such other cellular service providers while they are in the company's concession areas. The Company operates through its subsidiaries, Vivo SA and Telemig Celular Participacoes SA, which are mobile operators in Brazil. Vivo is controlled by Portugal Telecom and Telefonica groups.
