Along with other industry players, diversified technology company Honeywell International Inc. (HON - Analyst Report) has successfully contributed to the designing of the new Airbus A350 XWB (Xtra Wide-Body) aircraft leading to its perfect maiden voyage. Moving forward, the company expects to replicate this success for innovations in other Airbus aircraft as well, thereby strengthening the mutual relationship.

Boasting a seating capacity of 270 to 350 passengers, Airbus A350 XWB fleets are designed for long-range flights with the latest aerodynamics and advanced technologies for reduced fuel consumption and more efficiency. The aircrafts are manufactured from advanced materials to make it lighter by combining 53% of composite structures with titanium and advanced aluminum alloys.

Honeywell provided key elements of the mechanical and avionics products used in Airbus A350 XWB to make it more reliable and comfortable. Honeywell has also provided the most advanced Flight Management System (FMS) and Aircraft Environment Surveillance System (AESS) available for superior cockpit integration for pilots. For passengers and crew, the company offered improved air management systems for a refreshing long-haul flying experience.

Based in Morris Township, NJ, Honeywell manufactures a wide range of aerospace products and services, including control, sensing and security technologies for buildings, homes and industry; turbochargers; automotive products; specialty chemicals; electronic and advanced materials; process technology for refining and petrochemicals; and energy efficient products and solutions for homes and business.

Honeywell operates its business through four operating segments – Aerospace, Automation and Control Solutions, Performance Materials and Technologies, and Transportation Systems. Honeywell’s diversified business portfolio mitigates operating risks and has the potential to earn consistent above-average returns.

The Aerospace division of Honeywell develops indigenous technologies for air traffic modernization, flight and runway safety, engines, cockpit and cabin electronics, connectivity, and logistics for safe, efficient, productive and comfortable transportation-related experiences.
