Electronic Arts Inc.’s (EA - Analyst Report) award winning EA SPORTSNHL14 game is now available at different retail stores in North America. The game can be played on Sony’s (SNE - Analyst Report) PlayStation3 and Microsoft’s (MSFT - Analyst Report) Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system. The game has secured a score of 9.5 out of 10 in the ratings provided by EGM and declared an "all-time great."
This apart, other gaming performance analyzers such as The National Post and The Globe & Mail also awarded scores of 9.5/10 and 9/10, respectively toNHL 14. The National Post even went ahead and called it the greatest game of all times.
The game celebrates its 20th anniversary with the addition of the NHL 94 Anniversary Mode and comes with power packed features. These enable players to deliver game-changing hits with NHL Collision Physics, drop gloves powered by the new Enforcer Engine, and enjoy greater speed and control with the second edition of the True Performance Skating engine. All of them taken together ensure an unparalleled experience for the players.
EA, the second-largest video-game maker in the U.S., is also hopeful about its yet-to-be released shooter game Battlefield 4 and its soccer title FIFA 14.
All the games are scheduled to release in the quarter ending Dec 31, during the peak holiday season. We believe that higher consumer spending on these games will boost EA’s top-line.
However, we believe that EA faces a number of headwinds that include a soft video game industry performance and competition from other game makers, such as Activision Blizzard (ATVI - Snapshot Report).
Currently, EA has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
