Raven Aerostar, a unit of Raven Industries Inc. (RAVN - Analyst Report), in association with W. L. Gore & Associates has introduced The NEMESIS Turkey Suit. This is the first product in Raven Aerostar's NEMESIS series of innovative protective wear.
The NEMESIS Turkey Suit combining with GORE Multispectral Concealment materials will protect warfighters from infrared surveillance sensors and radio frequency (RF), reducing the possibility of detection.
Currently, warfighters and security personnel require protective clothing to resolve sophisticated needs. Protective clothing demands the highest level of technical expertise. NEMESIS Turkey Suit has been designed especially for hazardous situations to prevent injury.
NEMESIS Garments, Personal Hides and Equipment Covers are beneficial for day and night operations, and specifically minimize detection during infiltration and exfiltration. Its advanced CCD (camouflage, concealment and deception) technology allows full body coverage and is available in a broad range of military textile patterns.
The NEMESIS Turkey Suit consists of a jacket, pant, hood and face shield. Reinforcements, loops for attachment of natural materials and detachable elements give the operator the ability to modify the garment to fit mission specific needs.
The product is in sync with Raven’s commitment to design, develop and make life-saving solutions. The partnership with Gore will provide Raven the ability to develop new and innovative solutions to individual soldier and equipment.
The garment achieved authentication after extensive field trials boosting the count of successful mission for the U.S. warfighters. The suit is available for purchase directly through Raven Aerostar and GSA Advantage, an online shopping site.
The Aerostar segment reported sales of $20.7 million, down 23% year over year in second quarter of fiscal 2014 to due to reduced demand from U.S. agency customers. Though the segment continues to face government uncertainty and sluggish demand, it is expected to generate long-term growth by serving commercial asset monitoring markets and other commercial applications.
Raven is working to offset government uncertainty by expanding proprietary technology revenues including advanced radar systems, high-altitude research balloons and aerostats to international markets.
