Recently, Omnicom Group Inc. (OMC - Analyst Report) was honored at the 2013 PRO Awards in several categories. However, despite the accolades and market recognition, the stock price has fallen almost 4.5% since Sep 18, 2013.

The company announced that The Marketing Arm – a part of Omnicom’s subsidiary  Diversified Agency Services (DAS) – won 15 Pro Awards at the 2013 gala event at the Helen Mills Theater in New York City.

The Marketing Arm won 6 Gold, 7 Silver, and 2 Bronze Pro Awards across 13 categories for 11 different clients and brands. It was also awarded the title of “MVPro” that is conferred to the agency with the most wins for multiple brands.

Some of the categories in which the company received awards were "Best Idea or Concept," "Best Multidiscipline Promotion," "Best Use of a Promotion Outside the U.S.," "Best Web-Based Promotion," "Best Cross-Platform Using Interactive Channels," "Best Multicultural Promotion," "Best Sponsorship Promotion," "Best Use of Social Marketing," "Best Use of Public Relations" and "Best Use of Video."

Omnicom had won laurels at the Spikes Asia festival as well. Its agencies, BBDO and DDB were among the top three networks for five consecutive years, thus clearly displaying Omnicom’s creative excellence. BBDO has a record of winning nine Golds and a Creative Effectiveness award for its campaign on Tourism – "It's More Fun in the Philippines."

These awards are expected to boost the image of Omnicom and drive it to deliver even better performances.

Omnicom is an advertising, marketing and corporate communications bellwether. The company has a strong track record of winning new clients and receiving additional deals from the existing ones. The company’s business mix is well-diversified geographically and benefits largely from the growing markets. In addition, the company’s efforts to control expenses and its global reputation are both commendable.

Omnicom currently has a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell). Other notable companies in the industry that warrant a look include WPP plc (WPPGY - Analyst Report), Huron Consulting Group Inc. (HURN - Snapshot Report) and Information Services Group, Inc. (III - Snapshot Report). While WPP and Huron Consulting both carry a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), Information Services has a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
