Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (HOT - Analyst Report) has once again opened a hotel in China, this time under its popular brand Aloft. Located in the Jiangsu Province, Aloft Yancheng is the seventh Aloft property in China.

Aloft Yancheng is close to all major transportation hubs owing to its central location.  We expect the strategic location and the wide range of amenities offered at the 299 guestrooms hotel to create a strong guest base, going ahead. The hotel also offers amenities like a meeting space spread over an area of 380 square meters, a spa, a fitness center and the hotel’s signature bar.

Starwood has been consistently expanding its presence in China through its various brands. On Dec 6, 2013, Starwood Hotels unveiled a property named Aloft Dalian in Dalian, Northeast China. Recently, Starwood Hotels announced the opening of three properties in China; one in Bijie City in Guizhou Province under the Four Points by Sheraton brand, another in Hebei Province and a resort in Huizhou in Guangdong, also under the Sheraton brand.

Currently, China is one of the largest and most dynamic markets for Starwood Hotels. Other hoteliers are also in the race to tap the market. Recently, Hyatt Hotels Corp. (H - Snapshot Report) declared the launch of two properties under the Park Hyatt and Hyatt Regency brands in Changbaishan, China.

Starwood Hotels presently has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). Other players in the hotel industry, which look attractive at current levels, include Home Inns & Hotels Management Inc. and Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. . Both these stocks carry the same Zacks Rank as Starwood Hotels.
