The second largest satellite TV operator in the U.S., Dish Network Corp.’s (DISH - Analyst Report) recently updated DISH Anywhere application can now be downloaded from Amazon.com Inc.’s (AMZN - Analyst Report) Kindle Fire HDX tablets. The app is also available on Android and Apple Inc. (AAPL - Analyst Report) developed devices.

The DISH Anywhere application allows DISH subscribers to watch live TV, DVR recordings and several Video on Demand titles anywhere and anytime. Notably, DVR recordings can also be transferred to HDX tablets which will facilitate offline viewing.

We believe that DISH is taking all the necessary steps to widen the viewing options for its customers so that they can comfortably watch everything, anywhere, at any time on any devices. The company is also focusing on expanding into the mobile market. This will not only drive ARPU growth but will also reduce subscriber churn while moving ahead.

DISH Network exited the fourth quarter of fiscal 2013 with 14.057 million pay-TV subscribers and 8,000 pay-TV subscribers. Moreover, average monthly pay-TV subscriber churn rate in the same quarter was 1.53% compared with 1.54% in the prior-year quarter while average revenue per user was $81.24 against $77.47 in the year-ago quarter.

Recently, DISH created history by signing signed an online pay-TV deal with leading media mogul, Walt Disney Co. (DIS - Analyst Report). The agreement will allow DISH Network’s customers to watch ESPN, ABC and Disney channels on PCs, smartphones and tablets through the Dish Anywhere app. Moreover, Walt Disney will also drop its litigation against DISH Network’s ad skipping Auto Hop device.
