Sprint Corporation (S - Analyst Report) recently unveiled an innovative bundle of mobile applications – the Neurodiversity ID pack – targeting management of neurodevelopment disorders like autism, dyslexia and dyspraxia.

The new pack is a collection of various apps designed to help children with such disabilities improve their math and reading skills. Also equipped with several educational tools and developmental games, the app is specifically designed for learners in kindergarten through grade 12. Moreover, the ID pack contains support application for parents of such children with special needs.

The 25 odd applications and weblinks have been carefully chosen in association with several organizations focused on disabilities that impact learning, attention and behavior, including the National Center for Learning Disabilities, Dyspraxia Foundation USA and Quality Services for the Autism Community.

Currently available on select Android smartphones under the Sprint banner, this new application highlights Sprint’s commitment toward serving the special-needs community. This ID pack marks yet another step toward the company’s expansion in the e-health market, which is currently an emerging business opportunity in several developed nations.

In the same vein, Sprint has been expanding its mobile health facility in Kansas City, resulting in the development and commercialization of emerging mobile healthcare applications and services. This has given Sprint a competitive edge against carriers like AT&T Inc. (T - Analyst Report) .

With the advent of advanced wireless technology and widespread data usage it is quite likely that the health care market will also stride forward using technologies that will make it more accessible, reliable and cost efficient to its target market. As a result, it is imperative that Sprint and other technology-driven companies tap this golden opportunity and undertake efforts to bridge the gap between the traditional form of health care and the rising need for a technology driven health care system.
