Vail Gets Caught in Slowdown
Vail Resorts Inc (MTN) reported a fourth-quarter loss that was wider than consensus estimates, as revenue from its mountain resorts dropped due to the ongoing economic crisis. The company also said it expects its 2009 profit to fall short of year-ago levels. Vail sees income in the full-year to range between $60 million to $76 million, down from the $102.9 million reported in 2008. Analysts were expecting earnings of $2.74 a share in 2009. The stock shed more than 6% to trade at $37.89.
