Oracle (ORCL) declared today that it is buying Relsys International, a drug safety and risk management software provider.
With the acquisition, Oracle expects to create a portfolio of software applications that support drug safety processes across clinical development, post-market surveillance and patient care.
The Redwood City-based software company also said Relsys will "bring significant domain knowledge and experience" to Oracle's health sciences global business unit.
The Relsys acquisition deal is expected to close in the first half of 2009. However, the terms of the deal were not revealed.
The company, which has been in an acquisition spree of late, had agreed to buy mValent on Feb 4, 2009. On Nov 3 in 2008, Oracle had acquired the intellectual property assets of Tacit Software.
ORCL is a Zacks #3 Rank ("Hold") company.
