Investors can find such funds by checking out the entire list of the Zacks #1 Rank Financial Equity Funds.

3 Solid Examples

JennDry Dryden Financial Services A (PFSAX) seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing in the equity securities of financial services companies worldwide.

The fund is designed for investors belonging to the "baby boomer" generation who need to plan for and fund their retirement. It is also suitable for investors who seek the growth potential associated with investing in financial stocks.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS - Analyst Report), Itau Unibanco (ITUB - Analyst Report) and Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD - Snapshot Report) are among the fund's key holdings.

Burnham Financial Services A (BURKX) seeks capital appreciation and tries to take advantage of mergers in the U.S. banking industry, focusing on smaller cap financial services companies.

Although it may invest in companies of any size, the fund typically invests in companies with market capitalization of $9.3 billion or less. The fund may invest up to 20% of its assets outside the financial services sector and in debt securities.

Unit holders have to make a minimum initial investment of $2,500 to enter this Zacks#1 Rank ("Strong Buy") fund. The fund distributes dividends and capital gains annually.

FBR Large Cap Financial (FBRFX) was incepted in December 1996 and seeks capital appreciation by investing primarily in the equity securities of domestic financial services companies. The fund is non-diversified.

The fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in securities of large capitalization companies "principally engaged" in the business of financial services which have a market capitalization of $3 billion or more.

David Ellison has been lead manager at the fund since its inception. The fund has topped the total returns of its benchmark index in the last 1-, 3- and 5-year periods.
