Patni Collaborates with SAP

On June 30th, Patni Computer Systems Ltd (PTI) introduced an Inventory Liability and Risk Management program in collaboration with SAP.

This new solution is built on SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SNC) application and integrates the SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise Software. It enables companies to calculate the monetary value of inventory at risk at any given location in the supply value chain in real time.

The solution is based on a model using supply chain metrics and enables visibility into inventory risk characteristics across different layers of the supply matrix. This innovative solution results in minimizing financial risks and liabilities of equipment manufacturers in high-tech industries involving heavy commitment of capital into critical inventory.

The program facilitates tracking inventory exposure in individual tiers of the supply chain and reduces costs of replacing obsolete inventory. It enables real-time analysis of supply and demand performance with decision-support capabilities. It is estimated to result in as much as 20% reduction in inventory costs.
