CSX Corp to Boost Efficiency through Administrative Changes

On May 20, 2016, CSX Corp. (CSX - Free Report) announced a number of changes in its senior management team. These changes include the retirement of Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, Lisa Mancini, effective Jul 1, 2016 after the completion of nearly 13 years of service to the company.

Cressie Brown, the incumbent vice president of labor relations will fill in Mancini’s position, while Kathleen Brandt, current head of the information technology subsidiary of CSX, will become Chief Information Officer and senior vice president of the company.

Brown will be succeeded by Zachery M. Jones, who was appointed vice president-labor relations by CSX’s board of directors. Mike Smith, present vice president of network operations, will become vice president of Positive Train Control (PTC) safety technology and strategy implementation. Smith’s role will be assumed by Bob Frulla. Frulla has worked as a division manager in several locations and as the general manager of network operations for CSX. While Smith and Frulla will report to Chief Operating Officer Cindy Sanborn, Brown and Brandt will work under Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Michael J. Ward. These changes will take effect on Jul 1 as well.

Through these changes, management expects to leverage the knowledge and experience of the members in a bid to improve strategy and capital planning; and accelerate the deployment of newer technologies that support automation, analytics, and improvement in the safety and efficiency of its services.
