Housing Starts in June increased by 3.6% to an annual pace of 582,000, after having increased in May to 562,000 (revised from 532,000) from April’s all time low of 454,000 starts. Over the year the figure has declined by 46% from the June 2008 rate of 1,078,000.. Building Permits also increased June, by 8.7%, to a rate of 563,000, which increased to 518,000 in may from 498,000 permits in April. Over the year, Building Permits fell by 52% from the 1,1748,000 pace in June 2008.
