Marsh & McLennan to Expand Employee Benefit Solutions

Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc.’s (MMC - Free Report) middle market agency subsidiary Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (“MMA”) recently announced that it has acquired Atlanta-based employee benefits consulting firm, Benefits Advisory Group LLC.

Benefit Advisory Group, which was founded in 2003, is a full-service employee benefits agency. The company aids its clients, mainly those in the mid-sized employers throughout Georgia, to select the correct benefit package according to their needs from a plethora of health care coverage offers. Therefore, this acquisition will largely help MMA to enhance its offering of employee benefit in Atlanta.

Benefit Advisory Group is also optimistic about its association with the globally leading insurance broker. The acquired company expects the deal to facilitate it in continuously delivering premium level of employee benefit solutions in order to match the standard expected by Marsh & McLennan clients.

Marsh & McLennan actively undertakes strategic acquisitions to boost its business. Its prudent buyouts and well-executed restructuring initiatives have generated new clients, triggering growth. Since 2009, the company has spent $4.6 billion on 115 acquisitions and investments to expand its scale and size of business across geographies. During the first half of 2016, the company spent $168 million for acquisitions and has completed the acquisition of New York-based insurance brokerage and human resource consulting firm – Corporate Consulting Services Ltd; leading aviation risk advisor – Aviation Solutions LLC; and one of Florida’s largest independent agencies – Celedinas Insurance Group.
