NIKE (NKE) Launches Next-Gen Multi-Sport Store in Miami

NIKE Inc. (NKE - Free Report) is geared to take its leadership status in the sporting goods space a step further with the launch of its new Nike Miami store. This store, which promises to demonstrate the future of sport retail, is slated to open doors on Jan 19, 2017.

Spread in an area of more than 31,000 square feet, the new Miami store will be a next-gen outlet that will be well connected digitally. The two-story, multi-sport store will be located at the heart of the City of Miami Beach’s shopping district, at 1035 Lincoln Road.

This store will offer the best of NIKE products, services and experiences, all under one roof. The store is suitably designed with unique spaces for each of NIKE’s products and services. These unique spaces will include Nike+ Running Trial Zone, Nike+ Soccer and Nike+ Basketball Trial Zones, each of which are interactive destinations where customers can try the brand’s newest products. Further, the store will feature The Lounge, which will be a women’s boutique inside the store featuring a treadmill, expanded and enhanced fitting rooms and personal styling services. Others in list are the Nike+ Service Station for interaction with sports experts, and The Stands where customers can connect with each other and experience a live in-store programming.

Coming to product offerings, the Miami store will showcase Nike’s exclusive products and re-stocks, such as the recently launched HyperAdapt 1.0, which is currently available on request alone. Additionally, the racks will feature some of Nike’s premium products, like Kobe Fade to Black Pack, Kyrie 3 “What The,” Air Force 1 Ultraforce Mid, Zonal Strength Tights and the Apple Watch Nike+.

Beaverton, OR-based NIKE leads in the U.S. footwear and athletic apparel industry. The company’s strong portfolio of globally recognized brands, Nike, Converse and others, along with its focus on innovation has helped in further strengthening its leadership position. These attributes also provide Nike with a competitive edge over its peers.

NIKE currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). However, shares of NIKE have declined about 9.8% in the past one year, substantially underperforming the Zacks categorized Consumer Discretionary sector’s growth of nearly 20.8% in the same period.
