Dover Corporation (DOV - Free Report) has completed the sale of its Performance Motorsports International (“PMI”) unit to Race Winning Brands for $150 million. This includes Dover`s retention of a minority ownership interest in the ongoing business. The move is in sync with the company’s strategy to focus on higher growth core markets.

Performance Motorsports was created from a vision of the Dover Corporation to define an umbrella company that contained the leaders in the Automotive/Powersports worlds. This umbrella company would allow the individual companies to share engineering and technological resources to further expand market share and thus provide a superior product for customers. Each of the companies are recognized brand leaders and primarily sell pistons, and other engine related components to the Motorsports and Powersports markets (high performance racing, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, and so on.).
