Market Edge with Tracey Ryniec

On Episode #72 of the Zacks Market Edge Podcast, Tracey Ryniec is joined by Jim Giaquinto, Editor of the Zacks Ultimate trading service, to discuss their passions and whether you should be investing in your own.

While Tracey’s passion for the weather isn’t necessarily something she can invest in, Jim’s interesting in professional wrestling is. The biggest name in sports entertainment, World Wrestling Entertainment , is a publicly traded company.

The pair also take a look at Tracey’s other passion: the movies. Investors can get a piece of the big studios and movie theater chains, but is an interest in film enough to justify adding one of these stocks to your portfolio?

Tracey and Jim discuss this question and highlight movie stocks like Cinemark (CNK - Free Report) , Regal Entertainment , AMC Entertainment (AMC - Free Report) , and Lionsgate LGF.A along the way.

Friday Finish Line with Ryan McQueeney and Maddy Johnson

On Episode #38 of the Zacks Friday Finish Line Podcast, Content Writer Ryan McQueeney and Editor Maddy Johnson take on this week’s biggest stories, including what will go down as one of the biggest market events in years: the massive Snap Inc. IPO.

Before that, the hosts covered the latest earnings report from Target (TGT - Free Report) , which underscored some serious problems with the company; the president’s first official speech to Congress, which mentioned several huge companies; and Alphabet’s (GOOGL - Free Report) surprise announcement of YouTube TV.

Finally, Maddy and Ryan took a look at the historic market debut of Snap Inc. SNAP, the parent company of picture messaging app Snapchat. After pricing its IPO at $17 per share, Snap saw its new stock open over 40% higher, bringing its market cap well above $30 billion. Maddy and Ryan chatted a bit about the future of the company and what it might do to justify that valuation.

The Dutram Report with Eric Dutram

On Episode #12 of the The Dutram Report Podcast, Eric Dutram is joined by Steven Schoenfeld, the founder and CIO of BlueStar Indexes, to discuss the state of the Israeli technology industry.

Steven is an Israel expert, and his company provides the index for the Israel Technology ETF ITEQ. Together, Eric and Steven chatted about how Israel stands out from other tech markets, including why its “start-up” culture may have cultivated an entrepreneurial spirit throughout the country.

The two also discussed what other industries are growing quickly in Israel and highlighted companies like Amdocs (DOX - Free Report) , Checkpoint Software (CHKP - Free Report) , and Mobileye (MBLY - Free Report) .

Value Investor with Tracey Ryniec

On Episode #32 of the Value Investor Podcast, Tracey Ryniec discussed the investing habits of Warren Buffett and explained how value investors should learn to have a “strong stomach.”

As Tracey highlights, Warren Buffett has made his fortune by being patient and not panicking when stocks slide. In fact, Buffett often buys more when other investors are fleeing. With this in mind, Tracey explains how listeners can learn to buy stocks after it has already been sold off.

Using this strategy, Tracey ran a screen of stocks that were down 10% or more year-to-date, had forward P/Es under 15 and had Zacks Ranks of #1 (Strong Buy), #2 (Buy), #3 (Hold). This screen revealed that Aceto Corporation (ACET - Free Report) , BG Staffing BGSF, and Hawaiian Holdings (HA - Free Report) may be good picks for value-minded investors right now.

Tech Talk Tuesday with Ryan McQueeney

On Episode #2 of the Tech Talk Tuesday Podcast, Ryan McQueeney explores Facebook and its attempts to clone the Snapchat user experience.

With Snapchat’s massive IPO this week, the focus is firmly planted on the company’s innovative social media platform, which allows users to share disappearing messages and post to personal feeds that delete after 24 hours.

However, Facebook is the leader in the social media world, and Mark Zuckerberg and friends seem motivated to copy some of Snapchat’s best ideas. Ryan discusses why Instagram Stories and WhatsApp Status may actually be better than Snapchat.
