Sep 25: New Home Sales Up
Durable Orders for August decreased by 2.4% to $164.4 billion, less than the expected 0.3% gain, following a 4.8% increase in July and a 1.3% decline in June. Transportation showed the largest decrease, by 9.3%. Over the past 12 months, Durable Orders have dropped by 24.9%.
New Home Sales for August are up by 0.7% to an annual pace of 429,000 homes with a median sales price of $195,200 and an average sales price of $256,800. Over the past 12 months new home sales have fallen by 3.4% from August 2008 levels of 440,000.
