Earnings: Chesapeake reported adjusted first-quarter 2017 profit of 23 cents per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 19 cents.

Revenue: Revenues of $1,469 million came above the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1,104 million.   

Key Stats: Chesapeake’s production for the reported quarter was approximately 48 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBoe), reflecting a year-over-year decrease of 21.3%. Production consisted of approximately 8 million barrels (MMbbls) of oil (down 11.1% year-over-year), 211 billion cubic feet (bcf) of natural gas (down 23% year-over-year) and 5 MMbbls of NGL (down almost 17% year-over-year).
