United Continental Holdings’ (UAL - Free Report) wholly owned subsidiary, United Airlines has announced addition of flights on 11 routes connecting the continental U.S. and Hawaii. This would provide customers with more options between the mainland and the Hawaiian Islands, larger than the package offered by most other carriers.

United Airlines will extend flights from its hubs in Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco to Hawaii, beginning Dec 20, 2017.

The service between Denver International Airport and Kona International Airport (KOA) and that between Lihue Airport (LIH) and Kahului Airport (OGG) will increase from seasonal to daily year-round service, starting Dec 20.

Frequency of service between Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and Kahului Airport (OGG) will increase to five times a week, starting Dec 20.

United Airlines is believed to offer a nonstop service to the largest number of Hawaiian Island destinations from Los Angeles. Along with five daily flights to Honolulu, the carrier will expand services between Los Angeles International Airport and Hilo International Airport, KOA, OGG as well as LIH, commencing Dec 20.

From San Francisco too, United Airlines covers the maximum number of Hawaiian Island destinations, offering nonstop services. In addition to the existing five daily flights between San Francisco International Airport and Honolulu International Airport, United Airlines will extend services to KOA, LIH and OGG from Dec 20.

On a separate note, the carrier said that it still expects capacity growth for full-year 2017 in the range 2.5-3.5%.
