Today we are featuring top-performing “Global" equity mutual funds, which primarily invest in equity securities of both US and foreign companies.

3 Worldly Picks

ING Global Value Choice A (NAWGX) seeks maximum long-term capital appreciation. The fund was incepted in April 1993.

The fund primarily invests at least 65% of its total assets in securities of issuers located in at least three different countries. The fund invests at least 75% of its total assets in common and preferred stocks, warrants, and convertible securities.

The fund distributes dividends and capital gains annually. It has an expense ratio of 1.59%.

David B. Iben has been lead manager of the fund since April 2006. Before his current assignment, Iben was managing director at NWQ Investment Management Company.

Janus Global Research A (JRGAX) was incepted in November 2007. It seeks long-term growth of capital by investing in common stocks which show significant growth potential.

The fund invests in companies of different sizes, ranging from larger, more prominent firms to smaller emerging companies. The fund may invest significantly in emerging markets.

Shareholders have to make a minimum initial investment of $2,500 to enter this Zacks#1 Rank (“Strong Buy”) fund. As of April 2009, its portfolio turnover was 324%.

James P. Goff has been lead manager of the fund since February 2005. Goff holds the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation.

Ivy Cundill Global Value A (ICDAX) seeks long-term capital growth. It was incepted in September 2001.

The fund invests primarily in equity securities throughout the world, including emerging market countries that are trading below their intrinsic value. It has an expense ratio of 1.81%.

The fund distributes its dividends and capital gains annually. As of June 2009, its portfolio turnover was 43%.

James Thompson has been lead manager of the fund since April 2009. He was earlier a Managing Member with Bryant Asset Management.
