Alger Spectra Fund A (SPECX) seeks long-term capital appreciation. It was incepted in July 1969.

The fund invests primarily in equity securities of all capitalizations, such as common or preferred stocks, which are listed on U.S. exchanges or in the over-the-counter market. The fund invests primarily in 'growth' stocks.

The fund declares and pays dividends and capital gains annually. The fund has an expense ratio of 2.23%.

Patrick Kelly has been lead manager of the fund since September 2004. Kelly has been with Fred Alger Management since 1999 and is senior vice president and portfolio manager with the firm.

Fidelity Growth Strategies Fund (FDEGX) was incepted in December 1990. The objective of this fund is to seek capital appreciation.

The fund invests primarily in common stocks of domestic and foreign issuers that the management believes offer potential for accelerated earnings or revenue growth. This fund focuses on investments in medium-sized companies, but it may also invest substantially in larger or smaller companies.

The fund has an expense ratio of 0.89%. As of August 2009, it has a portfolio turnover of 347%.

Steven Calhoun has been lead manager of the fund since June 2005. Calhoun joined Fidelity's equity research department in 1994 and is currently a portfolio manager with the company.

Pin Oak Aggressive Stock (DFCSX) seeks long-term capital appreciation. It was incepted in was incepted in August 1992.

The fund invests primarily in common stocks of U.S. companies with small to medium market capitalizations (between $500 million and $5 billion) that have above average growth potential at attractive prices. It distributes dividends and capital gains annually.

Shareholders have to make a minimum initial investment of $2,000 to enter this Zacks #1 Rank ("Strong Buy") fund. It has an expense ratio of 1.25%.

Mark W. Oelschlager has been lead manager of the fund May 2005. Oelschlager is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has been with Adviser since 2000.
