Read MoreHide Full Article

Williams Partners L.P. set a new record of delivering the highest amount of natural gas on Transco interstate gas pipeline. On Jan 5, 2018, Transco — extending from South Texas to New York City — transported a record-breaking 15.58 million dekatherms (MMdt).

The latest volume beat the prior record that was established on Jan 1, 2018. The Transco pipeline carried an average of 14.90 MMdt natural gas to the market region from Jan 4 to Jan 6, 2018 — highest average gas transported over three days.

The natural gas delivery records were achieved due to the completion of five fully-contracted Transco expansions including the Gulf Trace, Hillabee Phase 1, Dalton, New York Bay and Virginia Southside II, in 2017. The expansions added over 2.8 MMdt of firm transportation capacity to the existing pipeline system, accounting formore than 25% in Transco’s design.

Transco, the nation’s largest-volume natural gas transmission system, helped in providing essential services in this freezing weather conditions in the United States to gas distribution companies, power generators and other customers located along the Eastern Seaboard and Gulf Coast.

In view of the increasing natural gas demand, expansions on the Transco project are still underway. Currently, two additional Transco projects — Atlantic Sunrise and Garden State Phase II — are in progress and is intended to create about 1.9 MMdt of additional pipeline capacity in 2018.

Transco, a wholly owned subsidiary of Williams Partners, supplies natural gas to customers through its 10,200-mile pipeline network whose mainline stretches about 1,800 miles between South Texas and New York City. The system is a key provider of cost-effective natural gas services in 12 Southeast and Atlantic Seaboard states as well as international markets.
