Read MoreHide Full Article

Motorola Solutions, Inc. (MSI - Free Report) has completed the acquisition of Plant Holdings, Inc. from Airbus Defense and Space, Inc., a division of Airbus. Earlier, Plant Holdings used to oversee the Airbus DS Communications business.

Regarding the buyout, both companies had initially entered into an agreement in July 2017.

Airbus DS Communications is one of the leading providers of mission critical communications for public safety business continuity.

The divestment is a move toward reshaping portfolio within the Airbus Defense and Space Division, announced in September 2014.

The transaction boosts Motorola’s command center software portfolio and its software enterprise. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Of late, the company has been carrying out a series of acquisitions to broaden its software product portfolio.

Last month, the company inked a deal with Avigilon to purchase it in an all-cash transaction, valued at approximately $1 billion and inclusive of the latter’s net debt. The deal on completion will  widen Motorola’s mission-critical communications technologies portfolio.

Last year, Motorola completed the acquisition of Kodiak Networks, which being a provider of broadband push-to-talk for commercial customers, the buyout has extended Motorola’s offerings for mobile network operators, particularly in the commercial markets.
