Honeywell Software to Aid Airlines to Cut Costs & Save Fuel

Read MoreHide Full Article

Honeywell International Inc. (HON - Free Report) announced that its GoDirect Flight Efficiency software is being deployed by International Airlines Group, an Anglo-Spanish multinational airline holding company, across its fleet of more than 500 aircraft. It will use the Connected Aircraft flight data analytics platform, which uses flight analysis tools, to reduce carbon emissions, enhance efficiency and reduce fuel costs.

Honeywell’s GoDirect Flight Efficiency software integrates with existing systems to produce more than 100 analysis reports. These reports improve flight-planning capabilities and empower pilots with key insights, helping to expand their knowledge of operations and allowing them to learn from previous flight experiences.

The GoDirect solution is a one-stop shop for Honeywell's services and applications that provide airlines, business aviation operators, ???ight crews and maintenance teams with the information they need to monitor their services and network.

Honeywell is focusing on expanding its industry-leading range of Connected Aircraft offerings. It has set a new benchmark with the launch of its newest connectivity solution, the GoDirect Router.

The GoDirect Router maximizes available onboard Wi-Fi bandwidth and offers reliable, in-flight wireless connection on any network, including Honeywell's own GoDirect Cabin services. The router enables fast and reliable connectivity that passengers, pilots and operators expect.

Its small design and light weight make it easy to install and suitable for all kinds of aircraft. It also gives access to all kinds of data and services that increase safety and at the same time saves time and money.

The new router provides the same access to Honeywell's GoDirect software and services as Honeywell's larger CNX-900, irrespective of the connectivity provider. It is an upgrade for Honeywell's existing CNX-250, CNX-200 and other Satcom Direct routers.

Honeywell is well-positioned to gain from long-term expansion in markets like aerospace, facility automation and automotive turbochargers on the back of its strong market share and product lineup. Honeywell’s shares have outperformed the industry in the last three months. It has lost 2% compared with a decline of 5.3% for the industry. The company continues to invest in innovative technologies, which helps to maintain its leadership position.

Will You Make a Fortune on the Shift to Electric Cars?

Here's another stock idea to consider. Much like petroleum 150 years ago, lithium power may soon shake the world, creating millionaires and reshaping geo-politics. Soon electric vehicles (EVs) may be cheaper than gas guzzlers. Some are already reaching 265 miles on a single charge.

With battery prices plummeting and charging stations set to multiply, one company stands out as the #1 stock to buy according to Zacks research.

It's not the one you think.
