Twitter (TWTR) Outpaces Stock Market Gains: What You Should Know

Twitter closed the most recent trading day at $29.22, moving +1.25% from the previous trading session. The stock outpaced the S&P 500's daily gain of 0.54%. Elsewhere, the Dow gained 0.71%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq added 0.76%.

Heading into today, shares of the short messaging service had lost 11.47% over the past month, lagging the Computer and Technology sector's gain of 0.87% and the S&P 500's gain of 1.53% in that time.

Investors will be hoping for strength from TWTR as it approaches its next earnings release, which is expected to be October 25, 2018. In that report, analysts expect TWTR to post earnings of $0.14 per share. This would mark year-over-year growth of 40%.
