Juniper Networks, Inc. (JNPR - Free Report) recently announced that TIME dotCom Berhad has used its vSRX solution for rolling out the latter’s latest suite of virtual managed services for enterprise customers across Malaysia. TIME dotCom Berhad is a Malaysia-based communications solutions provider.

Handling speeds up to 100 Gbps, Juniper’s vSRX offers the same features as its physical SRX Series firewalls but in a virtualized form factor for delivering security services that scale to match cloud network demand. The solution supports Juniper Contrail, OpenContrail and third-party software-defined networking solutions while integrating with cloud orchestration tools. The Contrail offers intelligent automation, application security, and always-on reliability for cloud and Network Functions Virtualization.

Juniper has worked with TIME for years to deliver broadband connectivity to end users across Malaysia. Its vSRX Virtual Firewall automates and scales with maximum control and efficiency while protecting organizations from advanced malware with the company’s cloud-delivered Juniper Sky Advanced Threat Prevention option.

As Malaysian businesses have increasingly moved workloads into the cloud, the demand for greater flexibility to seamlessly add, drop or change services through an online portal witnessed an uptrend. To address this opportunity, TIME has introduced two new virtual managed services leveraging Juniper’s vSRX to provide end users with on-demand provisioning — TIME Managed Virtual Router and TIME Managed Virtual Firewall. The solutions optimize network scalability and mobility while reducing the high costs of physical infrastructure. As a result, Malaysian enterprises and their customers are able to implement cost-effective network scalability while retaining robust security protection.

Juniper is focusing to capitalize on the growing demand for data center virtualization, cloud computing and mobile data traffic. The company introduced several products and enhancements over the last few years. We consider these to be real differentiator, which give Juniper a competitive advantage.

However, in the past three months, shares of Juniper have gained 13.1% compared with 16.3% growth for the industry. It remains to be seen whether such strategic collaborations can help the company to enhance its reach and expand the customer base.
