The issue of recall is giving no respite to automakers across the globe. Toyota Motor Corporation (TM - Free Report) recently embroiled in a case of recall. Per Associated Press, Japanese auto giant Toyota is set to recall around 188,000 pickup trucks, sports utility vehicles and cars from all over the world due to faulty airbags.

In fact, about 185,000 vehicles in North America and 2,600 in other markets will be recalled. Models to be recalled include 2018 and 2019 Tundra pickups, and Sequoia SUVs as well as 2019 Avalon sedans.

Toyota informed that in case of a crash, airbags in faulty vehicles may not inflate. Though no casualty has been reported yet, the company stated that it will notify owners of those vehicles and dealers will make arrangements for updating the software that controls airbag.

In recent months, Toyota has been seriously hurt by recall issues. In early October, Toyota announced a massive safety recall containing 2.43 million gasoline hybrid vehicles in Japan, the United States and other markets. The recalled vehicles have a system issue that may lead to halting of cars.

Again, in September, Toyota announced that it was recalling more than 1 million of its Prius and C-HR compact crossover cars. The affected vehicle’s wiring harness, which is linked to the power control unit, might damage over time, resulting in a short circuit or fire.

Currently, Toyota has a long-term growth rate of 6%.
