Enphase Energy, Inc. (ENPH - Free Report) recently announced that in order to distribute its IQ 7 series of microinverters to installers across Southeast Asian countries including Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, the company has entered into a partnership with BayWa r.e. Solar Systems Co., Ltd., a globally leading solar photovoltaic (PV) distributor.

The BayWa’s two warehouse located in Thailand will ship the Enphase’s IQ 7 microinverters across the Southeast Asia region to meet this demand. The IQ 7 series will be available in limited quantities from fourth-quarter 2018 onward.

Benefits of IQ 7 Solar Microinverter

The company introduced the seventh-generation microinverter in first-quarter 2018. The seventh-generation microinverter is lightweight and are compact in size, offering state-of-the-art power performance. The IQ 7 series of microinverter provides nearly 96.5% of efficiency with additional production of 23% compared with its existing microinverter series. The microinverters help converting the direct current (DC) generated by a solar module to alternating current (AC).

The new series of microinverters provides a seamless integration with the company’s existing microinverter system coupled with easy-to-use interface. Also, the company’s IQ 7 microinverters can be integrated with Enphase Ensemble™, a technology that will allow new grid-independent solar use cases in eighth-generation Enphase micros. Enphase’s easy products installation, superior energy production, smart monitoring system, reliable and safe operation will allow the company to encash the surge in demand for solar microinverters in the Southeast Asia.

Enphase’s Microinverter: A Closer Look

The Enphase IQ Microinverter System simplifies solar installations and provides a complete alternating current solution that utilizes no high-voltage direct current. This provides a safe solar solution to homeowners. The company is also planning to introduce a series of IQ 7X during fourth-quarter 2018. Additionally, the company is expected to launch a more powerful and a compact IQ 8 system in 2019, which will enable solar systems to operate independently of the power grid.

Solar Energy Gaining Popularity

As per, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), solar capacity is anticipated to grow 127 gigawatt (GW) in 2050 from 2.3 GW at the end of the first half of 2018. Also, electricity produced from solar power will likely account for nearly 14% of total energy output to be generated during the same period. The above projection from EIA indicates a massive addition of solar generation in the electricity production mix.

Among other companies focusing on renewable solar energy, Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ - Free Report) is one. It currently has multiple late-stage 2.2 gigawatt-peak utility-scale solar power projects in its pipeline including those under construction. Another company in the same space, JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (JKS - Free Report) , has multiple solar projects in the pipeline around the globe. The company has signed a few agreements with international companies to supply solar modules.

Also, SunPower Corporation (SPWR - Free Report) is one of the most forward-integrated solar companies, which is fortifying its footprint in the global market with plans to build six solar projects across many regions in Mexico.
