What it Means for HP

HP’s efforts to turn the business around have been commendable. The company has adopted a strategy of engaging in product innovations and differentiation to stabilize the top line. Its focus on catering to the growing demand for security and gaming systems is noteworthy.

Furthermore, looking at the data compiled by two independent research firms, namely Gartner and International Data Corporation, HP held the second spot among worldwide PC vendors in the third quarter 2018. HP registered 6.2% growth in PC shipments and raised its market share to 21.8% from 20.5% in the year-ago quarter.

We believe that the spin-off from Hewlett-Packard Company and restructuring initiatives, such as focus on product development, pricing, marketing and sales activities plus divestment of non-core assets are tailwinds for the company.
