Nonetheless, EQT has an impressive earnings surprise history. Before posting the earnings in Q4, the company delivered positive surprises in all of the prior four quarters. Overall, the company has a positive earnings surprise of 67.6% in the trailing four quarters.

Revenues: EQT posted revenues of $1,245 million, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1,257 million. However, it increased from the year-ago number of $1,129 million.

Key Stats: Sales volume rose to 394 billion cubic feet equivalent (Bcfe) of natural gas from the year-ago quarter’s 294 Bcfe. The sales volume also exceeded the guidance. Average realized price of natural gas equivalents was $3.13 per thousand cubic feet, up 3% from the year-ago period of $3.04.
