Jul 29: Initial Claims Fall
Initial Claims decreased to 457,000, for the week ending 07/24, beating the expected decrease to 458,000, after increasing to 468,000, the revised level for the previous week. The 4-week moving average decreased to 452,000, the lowest level since May, from the previous week’s revised average of 457,000. Seasonally adjusted insured unemployment from the prior week, ending on 07/17, was 4,565,000, an increase of 81,000 from the preceding week's revised level of 4,484,000. Seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate from the week ending on 07/17, was 3.6%, an increase of 0.1% from the previous week’s unrevised figure of 3.5%.
