•Humana (NYSE:HUM) posted second quarter earnings of $2.00, versus Zacks estimates of $1.63, on revenues of $8.65 billion, versus Zacks estimates of $8.58 billion. The company provided full-year guidance of $5.65-$5.75

•NRG Energy (NYSE:NRG) topped estimates with second quarter earnings of 81 cents up from Zacks projections of 41 cents, as revenues fell 4.6% to $2.13 billion, but were above Zacks estimates of $2.00 billion

•Loews (NYSE:L) topped projections with second quarter results of 87 cents, 5 cents higher than Zacks projections, on revenues of $3.45 billion, versus Zacks estimates of $3.39 billion

•Oshkosh Truck (NYSE:OSK) bested earnings and revenue projections with fiscal third quarter earnings of $2.31, a 39-cent beat, on a 100.7% gain in revenues to $2.43 billion, ahead of $2.29 billion estimates

•Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) added Meade Johnson Nutrition (NYSE:MJN) to its Conviction Buy List, with a $61 price target

•JP Morgan (NYSE:JPM) upgraded Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) to "overweight" from "neutral," with a price target of $66

•MetLife (NYSE:MET) plans to offer 75 million shares to help finance its $6.8 billion purchase of American Life, a division of AIG (NYSE:AIG)

•A Barron's article highlighted Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) as attractive at current valuation levels, on the appeal of its banking business and brokerage activities, despite declining consumer fees. Barron's also noted a rise in Ford (NYSE:F) shares to $20 over the next year possible, following earnings gains should auto sales improve
