• Priceline (NASDAQ:PCLN) reported sharply better-than-expected sales and earnings for the second quarter. Earnings of $3.09 were sharply above Zacks expectations of $2.47, as revenues of $767.4 million beat estimates of $734 million. Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) kept its "buy" rating on the shares, taking the price target from $240 to $320
• Carl Icahn increased his position in Motorola (NYSE:MOT) to 9.9%
• Toyota (NYSE:TM) posted a $2.2 billion profit on the quarter, its best quarter in two years
• Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) reported second-quarter earnings of 50 cents, a nickel above Zacks projections and up from 35 cents a year ago, on revenues of $6.4 billion, ahead of Zacks projections of $6.2 billion
• Agrium (NYSE:AGU) beat estimates on both top and bottom lines with second quarter earnings of $2.90 beating Zacks estimates of $2.77, on revenues of $4.37 billion that were ahead of projections of $4.17 billion
• Garmin (NASDAQ:GRMN) reported earnings of 85 cents, versus estimates of 73 cents on revenues of $729 million that beat estimates of $682 million
