• J Crew (NYSE:JCG) reportedly is nearing an agreement to be acquired for $2.8 billion, or $43.50 per share

• Piper Jaffray (NYSE:PJC - Snapshot Report) upgraded Red Hat (NYSE:RHT - Snapshot Report) from "neutral" to "overweight," with a $50 price target

• Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS - Analyst Report) initiated coverage of VeriFone (NYSE:PAY - Analyst Report) at "neutral," and a price target of $31

• Deutsche Bank (NYSE:DB - Snapshot Report) began coverage of Textron (NYSE:TXT - Analyst Report) at "buy," and a price target of $28
