Digital River Expands Game Portfolio

E-commerce solutions provider Digital River (DRIV - Snapshot Report) recently introduced an expanded global e-commerce offering for games. Digital River has now added stand-alone online payments services and an in-game commerce solution to its game portfolio, which already includes its comprehensive e-store solution.

The total package is designed to enable game publishers and developers maximize their revenues across multiple digital channels and global geographies. Digital River’s e-commerce solutions help leading game developers and publishers support their digital monetization and online growth strategies.

In order to enable game publishers and developers document their current monetization strengths and identify revenue gaps, Digital River has created a tool that automatically generates customized game monetization plans.

Through a series of questions that explore pricing schemes, merchandising techniques, global payment methods, distribution strategies and more, The Digital River Monetization Action Planner (MAP) outputs a personalized and confidential plan to grow game revenue for publishers. 

Earlier, Digital River announced the addition of a Multi-Channel Optimization Program to its enterprise Global Commerce solution. The program uses a lifecycle management approach.

By taking a multi-channel approach to online expansion, distribution and pricing, this program aids consumer electronics manufacturers maximize sales from product presale through liquidation. The program provides access to outlet stores, affiliates, asset recovery partners and other established open and closed networks.

Digital River recently appointed Mr. Stefan Schulz as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Schulz took over this responsibility from Mr. Tom Donnelly, who became the President of Digital River in March 2011.

Mr. Donnelly joined Digital River in 2005 as its Treasurer and Vice President of Finance and became the CFO four months later. Over the past year, Mr. Donnelly has been managing the company’s delivery and IT organizations.
