NCR Corp. recently announced that it has sealed an agreement with Santikos Theatres. The financial details of the deal were not divulged. Santikos Theatres is a movie theater chain based in San Antonio, Texas.
Under the terms of the agreement, NCR will provide the theatre chain with its recently launched ‘Reel Time’ solution. The solution is expected to be implemented across all eight Santikos movie theatres in Texas.
The latest technology, NCR Reel Time facilitates complex data analysis and provides the required information to theatre operators for taking crucial operational decisions. Through this technology theatre owners can calculate concession amount, snack bar sales amount as well as plan new promotions, product launches and rate changes. The solution will also help Santikos to better focus on its growth strategies.
Apart from this solution, NCR launched Usherman services to accelerate e-ticket checking at auditoriums, thereby making the task of ushers much easier. Ushers generally work in theaters, stadiums, symphony halls and other recreational places. Patrons hand their tickets to ushers, who lead or direct them to their seats. Usherman services are easily deployable through Apple Inc.’s iPod Touch 4G.
We believe that the consecutive launch of these two solutions will make the operations within the theatres easy while making the movie-goers gain prompt services.
NCR has managed to successfully strike a number of deals based on its innovative products and services. Moreover, continuous launch of new technological solutions have made the company a favorite solutions-provider for many firms encircling different industrial sectors.
Despite NCR’s growth prospects, we are a bit concerned about the European debt crisis and slowing IT spending recovery in U.S., as this can rationalize the strong fundamentals to some extent.
NCR has a Zacks #3 Rank, implying a short-term Hold rating.
