BlackRock Energy & Resources A ( SSGRX - MF report ) invests the majority of its assets in equity securities of global energy and natural resources companies and companies in related businesses. It invests in companies from at least three countries at a given time and in those with economic linkages to a number of countries. The fund has a three year annualized return of 25.01%.
Daniel J. Rice is the fund manager and he has managed this BlackRock fund since 2005.
BlackRock Global Emerging Markets A ( MDDCX - MF report ) seeks long term capital growth by investing around a large share of its assets in equities from emerging markets. This non diversified fund benchmarks itself against the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) Emerging Markets Index. The fund has a three year annualized return of 27.53%.
As of December 2011, this fund held 81 issues, with 5.20% of its total assets invested in BlackRock Liquidity TempFund Instl.
BlackRock National Municipal A (MDNLX) invests the majority of its assets in municipal bonds having an average maturity period of 5 years or above. The fund may invest all of its assets in junk bonds although it seeks to invest around 65% of its assets in investment grade or unrated bonds. The fund has a three year annualized return of 7.96%.
The BlackRock fund has a minimum initial investment of $1,000 and an expense ratio of 0.83% compared to a category average of 0.97%.
BlackRock International Opportunities A (BREAX) seeks capital growth over the long term. The fund invests a large share of its assets in equity shares of foreign issuers without regard to their size. The fund focuses on acquiring equity securities including IPO’s but may also invest in preferred stocks and convertible securities. The fund has a three year annualized return of 15.83%.

BlackRock High Yield Bond A (BHYAX) invests the majority of its assets in high yielding junk bonds in order to maximize total returns.
