Avnet, Inc. (AVT - Analyst Report) recently announced that its Technology Solutions division has extended its distribution agreement with EMC Corporation. Avnet delegated Avnet Embedded with the task of marketing the EMC solutions for its Electronic Marketing Americas segment.
According to the agreement, Avnet Embedded will offer a range of EMC products which encompass the EMC VNX and VNXe unified storage solutions, EMC Isilon scale-out NAS systems and the EMC Atmos Cloud Storage Platform as part of its all-encompassing Build OEM Better program. The program is designed to be more labor and cost effective, offering technologically advanced support features for both, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and independent software vendors (ISVs).
Avnet shall now be able to ameliorate its storage and software solutions offerings to OEMs on one interface and would also create an avenue for faster back-up recovery. This product proliferation would allow the transition from design to deployment to be less cumbersome and more reliable for its vast clientele.
Avnet Technology Solutions has sustained a long-lasting reputation of offering quality EMC solutions for over 12 years now. Hence, this expansion shall further enrich the company’s field of expertise in catering to IT storage solution needs of its customers, providing them with the highest technological standards.
Previously, on January 26, 2012, the company declared financial results of its second quarter of fiscal 2012. Strong revenue yields along with improved gross margins dominated the overall scenario. The Technology Solutions segment, however, performed softly in the quarter, as expected by the company, recording revenues of $3.09 billion, within management’s guidance.
It is lucid that such progressive advances shall definitely abet the segment’s performance in the upcoming quarter considerably. In keeping with the reputation of being a Fortune 500 company, such moves made by Avnet are imperative to live up to the industry’s standards.
Stiff competitors like Anixter International Inc. (AXE - Snapshot Report), Wesco International Inc. (WCC - Analyst Report) and Arrow Electronics Inc. (ARW - Analyst Report) keep Avnet forever wary in its industry.
