We talked on the roundtable this morning about the JPM trading debacle. But let's go a little deeper and talk a little about what the trading situation could mean for other financials.
So far we see that this means nothing but bad news for other financials, with Citigroup taking it on the chin today for more than 3%. Others seeing red are Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley.
Do they have similar positions on the books as they try to squeeze the derivative market to boost net income because they are not making enough money just from lending?
Is there a systemic issue with banks trading capital and essentially risking everything in hopes of taking home a big win for a boost to net income?
What are your thoughts and worries about what this recent JPM trade means to the markets!
