The fund selects companies whose value is expected to increase over time. Investment decisions are based mainly in analysis of firms on an individual basis instead of relying on economic projections.The fund has a five year annualized return of 4.12%.

The American Century mutual fund has a minimum initial investment of $2,500 and an expense ratio of 1.00% compared to a category average of 1.27%.
