CareFusion Awards Best Hospitals

Medical technology company CareFusion ( CFN - Snapshot Report ) recently revealed that it recognized 1,187 U.S.-based hospitals for winning a minimum of one out of four awards conferred to the country’s top-notch medical institutions. The company stated that the awards recognize hospitals who are ahead of their cohort in parameters such as quality of care, nursing, financial reporting and information technology.

As part of the process, CareFusion evaluated the winners of four autonomous industry-wide felicitations. These winners exemplify various facets of quality and delivery of health care at hospitals.

CareFusion noted awards handed out to hospitals by four organizations, namely American Nurses Credentialing Center, Hospitals & Health Networks, Thompson Reuters and U.S. News & World Report.

Every year, CareFusion utilizes the awards handed out by the four above-mentioned entities to come up with its own ‘Best of the Best’ selection of America’s hospitals.

In the end, just half a dozen hospitals received all four awards. CareFusion noted that it is a supplier to five out of six winning hospitals. The six medical institutions are Hackensack Regional Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey, Christ Hospital & Medical Center in Oak Lawn and Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois, University of California San Diego Medical Center – Hillcrest in San Diego, Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts and Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix.
