I see a number of software stocks selling off today. The least of which is VMware (VMW - Snapshot Report) which is down 20% on weak guidance for 2013. I think there could even be some broader implications to the VMW report for an LBO of Dell, but more about that later in the comments.
Citrix Systems (CTXS - Analyst Report) is down almost 4%, EMC (EMC - Analyst Report) is down a little more than 4% while BMC Software is down 7.5%
The question becomes if businesses are telling software companies that things are not going to be as good as expected, where is the next pocket of weakness and do you even want to be around for when it is identified.
Are you worried by the soft numbers from software?
